I have lived by the sea for the last twenty years and never get bored of looking out from my balcony to the constantly changing sea view. Compared with the last few months where each day has often felt like “Ground Hog Day”, the sea and sky always have something refreshing to show.

Capturing these fleeting scenes with the SIGMA fp Camera has been an on going project. I know it’s not an original idea by any means, but the quality and subtlety of the colours the SIGMA fp sensor manages to record spur me on.

I apply very little in post processing, just letting the colours from the sensor speak for themselves.

I generally select the standard colour setting as I feel that it’s giving you the true colours from the fp.

I had the pleasure of using a SIGMA sd Quattro H last year, and loved the Foveon sensor colours, the Sigma fp has its own look again.

I shall continue to watch the clouds and the sea for the rest of the summer and into the autumn. Who knows I might even see some dolphins.
