The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the new SIGMA 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM | C, a standard zoom lens under the Contemporary classification of the Global Vision product line. The high performance Contemporary line incorporates the latest technology providing compact designs without compromising on optical performance. With this lens, you can enjoy the variation of different angle-of-views covering from a wide-angle of 18mm (equivalent to 27mm on a 35mm camera) to a telephoto of 200mm (equivalent to 300mm on a 35mm camera), as well as macro. The SIGMA 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM | C has been redeveloped as a higher performance lens which is even smaller and lighter in weight from its previous model and now incorporates a macro feature which is one of the biggest features of this lens. It offers the versatility of shooting subjects as close as macro lenses with a minimum focusing distance of 39cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3. Moreover, the OS (Optical Stabilizer) and HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) enhances the lens’ usability making it convenient to use for handheld photography, close-up and night time photography. The SIGMA 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM | C is one of the smallest in its class of lenses with more than a 7x zoom ratio and is more comparable in size to generic standard zoom lenses. Furthermore, the lens firmware and adjustment parameters such as focus can be updated with the use of the Sigma USB Dock.
