Sigma 28mm F1.8 Aspherical
Launched October 1990

Sigma 28mm F/1.8 is world fastest wide angle lens. It is incorporating aspherical lens elements (second surface of G-3 lens). Also, this lens is incorporating floating focus system. With these two optical systems, it succeeds in minimising the amount of sagittal flare. Concerning Auto Focus lens for Canon AF camera, generally there is a quite large amount of rotation sound and auto focus power transmission mechanism. To solve this problem, Sigma has developed new transmission systen. Since it us noiseless auto focus system, we dubbed it “NL” auto focus system.
Regarding Sigma 28mm F/1.8 for wide angle lens for Minolta, Nikon, Pentax auto focus, noise levels are smaller than ordinary auto focus lenses.
Sigma 28mm F/1.8 wide angle lens is ZEN matte finished to provide a non-slip, non-reflection and scratch resistant lens barrel, which is sturdy and serviceable through many years.
