  • ELD and SLD lenses offer excellent correction for various aberrations.
  • HSM system ensures quiet and high-speed auto focusing.

The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO HSM lens.

This large aperture zoom lens has a minimum focusing distance of 100cm (39.4”) throughout the entire zoom range. It`s maximum magnification of 1:3.5 makes it ideal for close-up photography.

The lens uses two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) and two SLD(Special Low Dispersion) glass elements for excellent correction of various chromatic aberrations. The power layout and multi-layer lens coating reduce flare and ghosting, a common problem with digital cameras, and also create an optimum color balance and excellent picture quality through the entire zoom range.

The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) system ensures quiet and high-speed auto focusing with full time manual focus override. The lens design incorporates inner focusing and inner zooming systems. As the overall length of the lens does not change during focusing and zooming, convenient handling is ensured. A removable tripod collar is included as standard.

The addition of the 1.4x EX DG APO or 2x EX DG APO Tele Converters (optional extras) produces a 98-280mm F4 AF telephoto zoom lens or a 140-400mm F5.6 AF telephoto zoom lens respectively.
